BORAN WEBSITE DESIGN
FOR STUDS THAT SELL ACROSS BORDERS

Boran genetics move. A South African Boran stud is rarely selling only to a farmer down the road: enquiries come from Zimbabwe, Zambia, Namibia, Botswana and further north, often for semen or embryos rather than a live animal. That changes what the website has to do. An international buyer cannot walk your veld, so the site becomes the farm visit.

We build Boran websites that carry the herd properly, explain the breeding programme, and make a cross-border enquiry easy — including what is available as semen or embryos, and who to contact about export paperwork.

Who this is for
  • Registered Boran studs with production or on-farm sales
  • Studs exporting semen and embryos into the region
  • Operations running Boran alongside other breeds or game
  • Studs whose enquiries arrive from several countries and get lost in WhatsApp

THE BORAN BUYER IS OFTEN A STRANGER

With a local breed sale, most buyers know the farm. With Boran, a serious portion of interest comes from people who have never met you and are judging the operation entirely on what they can see and read. They want to know that the herd is real, that the management is consistent, and that the animal in the photograph is the animal in the record.

That means the site has to answer trust questions before it answers price questions: how long you have bred Boran, what you select for, what the veld and rainfall are like, how animals are handled, and who has bought from you before.

  • ·A herd page that reads like a breeding programme, not a catalogue
  • ·Photographs with dates and context, so an animal can be followed over seasons
  • ·Clear statements on health status, testing and handling
  • ·Named references or past buyers where they are willing to be named

SEMEN, EMBRYOS AND INTERNATIONAL ENQUIRIES

Genetics sales are a different transaction from a bull sale, and they need their own page. A buyer looking for semen wants to know which sires are available, in what quantity, at what price, and what the process is on their side of the border.

We build a genetics page that lists available sires with their records, a plain-English explanation of how an order works, and an enquiry form that captures the country and the intended use — so you can answer a Zambian embryo enquiry differently from a local semen order without a round of back-and-forth.

  • ·Sire list with performance records and semen availability
  • ·Embryo availability with donor and sire pairing
  • ·Country field on the enquiry form, so quoting and logistics start correctly
  • ·Optional second currency on genetics pricing for cross-border buyers

AUCTION WEEKS AND THE 48 HOURS THAT MATTER

Boran auctions attract attention from a wide area, much of it arriving late. The night before the sale is when buyers finalise which lots they are chasing, and that is precisely when a Facebook post from two weeks ago is useless and a lot page is invaluable.

Our Panganayi Boran build recorded over 700 visitors in the 48 hours before their auction — verified own-client data. The build was designed for exactly that spike: fast-loading lot pages, the catalogue one tap away, and a WhatsApp button on every page for the buyer who wants to ask about a specific lot immediately.

WHAT IT COSTS, PUBLICLY

Every price on this site is public. A Boran stud with an annual auction and genetics sales usually lands on Auction Ready at R24,000 once-off. If you also run game, hunting or a lodge alongside the cattle, the Flagship Operation build at R38,000 covers all of the revenue lines in one site.

After launch, most studs take a care plan so the herd pages, sale dates and catalogues stay current through the season rather than going stale in March.

Boran studs almost always combine an auction with genetics enquiries from other countries, which is what the Auction Ready build is shaped for: lot pages, catalogue, genetics page and buyer capture.

Questions

We get enquiries from several countries. Can the site handle that?

Yes. Enquiry forms capture the buyer's country, and genetics pricing can be shown in a second currency. Notifications reach you by email and WhatsApp, so a cross-border enquiry is not sitting unread.

Do you handle export documentation?

No — that stays with you and your vet. What the site does is explain the process clearly and collect the information you need to start it.

Can we add lots ourselves before a sale?

Yes, or we do it for you as part of a care plan. Most studs prefer to send us the catalogue and have it loaded in a day.
